Whether it's a themed party, school year sleepover or holiday gatherings, this list of kid-friendly treats is sure to include something your little ones will love!
School is now in full swing and we know what that means: Halloween parties, sleepovers with new friends, family gatherings for the upcoming holidays, winter recitals. It can truly be endless action with school-age children in the home. Let's do them a favor and gather a few healthier, more fun and colorful treats that won't leave them (and us) with the dreaded sugar crash or post binge tummy ache.
Don't let school snack restrictions stifle your creativity. Prepackaged snacks can become anything with a little creativity, a black marker and other crafting supplies. Always be sure to check for allergies and guidelines recommended by staff. I can almost guarantee that your child's haul will include plenty of sugar, so opt on the savory and healthy side just to mix things up.
Sleepovers and family gatherings are where anything goes. Wow them with color. Literally, let them eat the rainbow with colorful treats. Get them involved in the kitchen too. A guided DIY snack bar or pizza baking session may be just the ticket to keep everyone occupied and calm, momentarily at least.
