This Gingerbread Oat Bran Bowl with Winter Fruits is a warm, hearty breakfast. The perfect way to start your day.

This Gingerbread Oat Bran Bowl with Winter Fruits is a warm, hearty breakfast. Perfect for cold mornings, it's a healthy and delicious way to start your day.

This is the third post in a series of three Healthy Aperture Blogger Network campaigns sponsored by Hodgson Mill. Recipe and photos by kumquat.

Let's talk breakfast. If you're up on the current food trends, you know that smoothie bowls are all the rage. While we love a good smoothie bowl, lately we've become partial to a new kind of bowl. It's like a smoothie bowl 2.0 -- affectionately known to us at the Oat Bran Bowl.

This Gingerbread Oat Bran Bowl with Winter Fruits is a warm, hearty breakfast. The perfect way to start your day.

Oat Bran is packed with soluble fiber, the type that's linked to decreases in blood pressure and bad cholesterol, as well as improvements in weight management, blood sugar management, and digestive health! Plus it has a mild flavor and a creamy texture that makes it easy for you to take it in a sweet or savory direction depending on your preference.

Oat bran is done cooking in just a minute or two so it's perfect for a quick breakfast, but you can also make up a big batch all at once, then reheat it throughout the week for a quick start to your day (or a quick meal or snack anytime!)

So whip up a bowl of Hodgson Mill Oat Bran and then go wild with the toppings. Make it savory by topping with some sauteed mushrooms and a fried egg, or take things in a sweet direction and try something like this GORGEOUS Gingerbread Oat Bran Bowl!

Be sure to stay tuned over the next two weeks to see what oat bran bowls our Healthy Aperture Blogger Network bloggers are whipping up this month with Hodgson Mill! You'll see recipes from:
