As far as protein sources go, cottage cheese is one of the most under-rated, yet amazing sources. It packs 14 grams of protein into a half cup serving and is also a good source of calcium, phosphorus and B-12. If you don't mind the texture of cottage cheese, it can make a great snack by itself, topped with some fresh fruit or nuts.
