You'd think working in food and recipes all-day everyday I'd have it completely under control in the menu planning department.

You'd think that. But you'd be wrong.

I regularly find myself picking kids up from school and "swinging" (sounds so casual, but usually it's a frantic rush) by the store to pick up something I can cook for a quick dinner. I'll be the first to admit this frantic rush for dinner ingredients isn't the best strategy, but it is my reality. I'm working on getting a better plan in place for the week. And one way I'm doing that is by being my own customer.

In case you've missed it, last week we launched a new RECIPES-BY-TEXT feature here on Healthy Aperture. You simply text the word "healthyaperture" to 444999, and we'll add you to our free texting service.

Each week, we'll send you a few of our favorite quick-and-easy recipes. So far, we've sent out choices like this...

The best part about this service (to me) is it ensures if you find yourself at the store needing an easy dinner idea, as long as you have your phone on hand, the recipe is at the ready. No more wandering the aisles trying to decide what's for dinner or sitting in the parking lot trying to skim through recipes you've seen here on Healthy Aperture or saved on Pinterest. We even send a shopping list to get you in and out of the store and on your way to making dinner in a snap.

If you've signed up already, thank you! Let me know what you think so far. Want more recipes/less?

If you haven't signed up, what are you waiting for?
