[Editor's Note: I always thought I was alone in my aversion to cottage cheese. And then I posted this on Twitter: "Who likes cottage cheese? Typically, #notme. So I'm looking to you friends for your best of the best ways to enjoy cottage cheese." And what I found is I'm not alone! I offer this as an open letter to cottage cheese makers everwhere. Don't be mad at us. We know you make a great product. In fact, we want to love you because of that. But we need a little help! And that's where this round-up comes in handy. Hope you enjoy! ~Regan]

As far as protein sources go, cottage cheese is one of the most under-rated, yet amazing sources. It packs 14 grams of protein into a half cup serving and is also a good source of calcium, phosphorus and B-12. If you don't mind the texture of cottage cheese, it can make a great snack by itself, topped with some fresh fruit or nuts. However, if you're like me (and Regan) and just can't stomach eating it plain, you can still reap the benefits by adding it to some of your favorite meals! 

Cottage cheese can be blended into smoothies, baked goods, sauces and even desserts. And we promise you won't even know it's in there.
